About the project

Using the resources at UWE (University of the West of England), I was able to print a landscape image I took & edited onto 2 metres of cotton weave fabric.
I used a sewing pattern to cut this fabric to the size and design of a Size 10 sleeveless dress, before sewing the pieces of the dress together.
I installed a 20cm zip on the right side.
The landscape image took 10 hours to both shoot and edit, and the dress took 32 hours to cut and sew.
This final piece took 42 hours in total to complete.
My aim in this project was to explore how photography can be printed onto a variety of materials, and displayed as a 3D wearable piece, rather than the traditional method of displaying photographic images in a frame on the wall.
